CURRY 4 FLOTRO TE ‘DAVIDSON’
Release Date: N/A
The Curry 4 Flotro TE ‘Davidson’ is a Team Exclusive colorway created for Davidson College student-athletes, that pays tribute to Davidson College, Stephen Curry’s alma mater. Curry debuted the shoes on December 5, 2022, when the Golden State Warriors faced the Indiana Pacers during the 2022–23 NBA season. Curry recorded 12 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 steal in the 112–104 loss.
The colorway holds particular significance because of Curry’s connection to Davidson and his decision to complete his college degree. Curry played three seasons at Davidson from 2006 to 2009, becoming one of the most accomplished players in the program’s history. Although he left school early to enter the NBA Draft, Curry returned years later to complete his remaining academic requirements. In May 2022, he officially graduated from Davidson College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology.
The design of the Curry 4 Flotro TE directly reflects Davidson’s identity. The shoe features a predominantly bright-red upper, representing the school’s primary colors. The upper is constructed with a nubuck finish, giving the shoe a textured appearance while providing a strong base for the contrasting graphics and details.
The most prominent design element is found on the heel, where an oversized Davidson Wildcat graphic is featured. The Wildcat serves as the official mascot of Davidson College and is presented in a glossy black finish. The black graphic provides a strong contrast against the bright-red nubuck, making the school-inspired detailing particularly noticeable from the rear of the shoe.
