The Curry 8 “USA” was a Player Exclusive (PE) edition created exclusively for Stephen Curry and select Under Armour athletes. Originally designed for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the model features a predominantly white upper and outsole, complemented by dark navy side panels, vibrant red accents on the tongue and pull tab, and a metallic gold external heel cup for a striking finish.
Following the postponement of the 2020 Olympics to the summer of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, speculation arose that Stephen Curry would join Team USA for the Games. Ultimately, he opted out, prioritizing recovery and minimizing health risks ahead of the next NBA season.
Curry debuted the “USA” PE colorway on January 20, 2021, in a matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. The Golden State Warriors secured a 121–99 victory, with Curry leading the way—posting 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists while shooting 4-of-8 from beyond the arc.
