Stephen Curry’s accomplishments in 2022 were nothing short of extraordinary. On the court, he achieved milestones such as winning his first All-Star MVP, Western Conference MVP, NBA Finals MVP, and securing his fourth NBA Championship—each a testament to his elite performance.
Off the court, Curry continued to excel. In July 2022, he received his college degree from Davidson College in North Carolina, his alma mater. In the same ceremony, his basketball jersey was retired, marking another major personal achievement.
Davidson College’s basketball program gained national attention due to Curry’s memorable NCAA Tournament runs in 2008 and 2009. Following his signing with Under Armour and subsequent NBA success, including his first Championship, the school’s athletics program began outfitting its student-athletes with Under Armour gear in 2016. In 2020, Curry Brand also became a part of the program’s apparel partnership.
The Curry 9 PE ‘Davidson’ was not released to the public. Instead, the shoes were exclusively distributed to athletes, coaches, and training staff of both the women’s and men’s basketball programs for the 2021-2022 school year.
The men’s team posted an impressive 27-7 record during the 2021-2022 season and made it to the NCAA Tournament, though they were eliminated in the first round.
