Under Armour Curry 6 “Thank You Oakland”
Release Date: May 31, 2019
The 2018–2019 NBA season marked the final chapter for the Golden State Warriors at the iconic Oracle Arena in Oakland, as the team prepared to transition to the newly constructed Chase Center in San Francisco. For Stephen Curry, it was the end of an era—ten seasons in Oakland filled with memorable achievements both on and off the court, particularly through his deep involvement with the local community.
The Curry 6 “Thank You Oakland” serves as a heartfelt tribute to the city, featuring a black knit upper and vibrant yellow accents inspired by the colors of “The Town.” The word “Oakland” is boldly emblazoned on the HOVR-equipped midsole, a proud nod to the city’s enduring influence on Curry’s career.
Ahead of the general release, Curry gifted 30 exclusive pairs to 30 individuals who had worked closely with him during his time in Oakland. These recipients included Warriors staff, media members, security personnel, his barber, and associates from his philanthropic endeavors. Each pair was accompanied by a personal video message expressing his gratitude.
Curry debuted the sneakers during Game 3 of the 2019 NBA Finals on June 5, 2019. Despite a tough loss to the Toronto Raptors (123–109), he delivered a remarkable individual performance, tallying 47 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists while shooting 6-of-14 from beyond the arc.
