Curry Brand Curry 12 “SLAM 30th Anniversary”
Release Date: N/A
To commemorate SLAM magazine’s 30th anniversary, the iconic basketball publication partnered with select footwear brands to release a collaborative collection of performance basketball sneakers inspired by legendary players and their most memorable SLAM covers. Within the collection, Stephen Curry is uniquely represented as the only athlete to receive a two-shoe set: the Curry 12 and the Flotro Anatomix Spawn.
This exclusive Friends and Family edition of the Curry 12, limited to only 30 numbered pairs worldwide, pays homage to Curry’s first SLAM cover—Issue #173 from December 2013—where he was dubbed “The Can’t Miss Kid.” The shoe’s all-yellow colorway draws direct inspiration from the bold block lettering of the SLAM masthead prominently featured on the cover. Adding to the narrative, the outer midsoles feature graphics of every SLAM cover on which Curry has appeared: the left shoe presents the covers with a torn-from-the-magazine effect, while the right shoe displays a cleaner, more refined visual treatment.
The Curry 12 made its on-court debut on December 8, 2024, during a matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. In the Warriors’ 114–106 victory, Curry delivered a standout performance, recording 30 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal, and connecting on 5 of his 11 attempts from three-point range.
